Review Powerpoint presentations on:
Thermal Treatment Technologies (Part One) - Overview (3MB)
Thermal Treatment Technologies (Part Two) - Emissions Control & Monitoring (2.5MB)
The above-mentioned presentations review the types of thermal treatment technologies, including thermal desorbers, that are used internationally for treating contaminated materials such as soil. They show how they work and what they look like. The presentations also review the types of emission control systems that are used in conjunction with thermal desorption plants and the testing of emissions. Dr John Hunt, Thiess Services Technical Manager, first delivered the presentations to members of the Rhodes Community Consultative Committee in August 2005.
Rhodes Remediation Odour Impacts (10MB)
The above mentioned presentation reviews modelling and monitoring of odour and volatiles (VOCs), the assessment of health risks and the difference between odour detection thresholds and toxicity. Dr Kerry Holmes from Holmes Air Sciences, an independent consultant to Thiess Services, delivered the presentation to local residents during a community forum about odour and health in June 2006. The presentation remains the intellectual property of Dr Holmes.
